Pastor W.J. Jackson Sr.
Pastor Willie James Jackson, Sr. is the oldest of nine children born to the union of the late Pastor B.T. Jackson and late Willie Mae Jackson of Marion, Indiana. Pastor B.T. Jackson was the founder and organizer of Rising Star Baptist church of Marion, Indiana, the church and ministry responsible for the spiritual development, licensing, and ordaining of Pastor W.J. Jackson, Sr.
In 1986, he became the pastor of Union Missionary Baptist Church of Muncie, Indiana, where he has faithfully led and served its assembly for the past twenty-two years. Known as an anointed man of God whose heart is toward God and God's people, Pastor Jackson expounds the Word of God with wisdom and clarity and is a much sought after sermonizer and teacher. He has traveled extensively throughout the country and the continent of Africa. Involved in both home and foreign missions, Pastor Jackson is a leader by word and example, greatly demonstrating the love and power of God. In addition to a very commanding pastorate, he has served on many civic, community, and religious organizations. He is currently a member of the Collective Coalition of Concerned Clergy; third vice-president of the Northeastern district Sunday School and BTU Congress; Whitely Neighborhood Association (board member) and Muncie Black Expo (board member).
Pastor Jackson's educational pursuits include attending Marion College (presently Indiana Wesleyan) in Marion, Indiana; Indiana Christian University of Indianapolis, Indiana; Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, having majored in religion and psychology.
Married to Donna M. Jackson, together they are the proud parents of two sons, Willie J. Jackson Jr. and Bryan Hairston, and a daughter, Anitra. They are also the loving grandparents of Anthony and Savannah and a host of extended sons, daughters, and grandchildren connected to the ministry.
